Compensation:

Start Date:

About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially minded and creative person to help grow both our trade and wholesale relationships and our digital sales channels.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys moving between direct customer outreach and digital marketing. On any given day, you might develop a campaign, review advertising performance, contact a prospective retailer, coordinate a product launch, or help an interior designer find the right rug for a project.

The position will be divided approximately equally between:

  • Growing our trade and wholesale business through thoughtful, consistent outreach; and
  • Improving online growth through paid advertising, email marketing, content, e-commerce, and performance analysis.

The exact balance will shift throughout the year based on product launches, campaigns, and sales opportunities. As part of a small team, you’ll work closely with the founder and operations lead and have meaningful influence over how our sales and marketing programs develop.

This is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for someone with relevant experience in sales, digital marketing, e-commerce, account management, or brand development who is ready to take ownership and help build effective systems.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Identify and develop relationships with interior designers, architects, retailers, stylists, and other potential trade partners.
  • Manage outbound outreach through email, telephone, and social channels.
  • Follow up consistently with prospective and existing accounts.
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurate records in our CRM.
  • Introduce clients to our collections, trade program, samples, and custom-rug capabilities.
  • Respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, and guide clients through the purchasing process.
  • Identify new partnerships and opportunities to grow the brand across Canada and the United States.
  • Help refine our sales materials, outreach strategies, and trade-account experience.

Marketing and Online Growth

  • Plan and execute digital campaigns across paid, organic, and email channels.
  • Manage and improve paid advertising, including campaign setup, audience targeting, testing, and performance analysis.
  • Coordinate email campaigns, product launches, and ongoing customer communications.
  • Help develop social media content that reflects the visual identity and voice of the brand.
  • Review website, advertising, and sales data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Work with our Shopify store to improve merchandising, product presentation, and conversion.
  • Track key marketing results and make clear recommendations based on performance.
  • Coordinate with photographers, designers, freelancers, and other creative partners when required.

Sales and Marketing Systems

  • Create practical systems for tracking leads, campaigns, customer activity, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
  • Help build reporting around pipeline value, conversion, account growth, advertising performance, and online sales.
  • Connect marketing activity to measurable sales outcomes.
  • Keep projects and information organized and actionable across the team.

Product and Brand Understanding

  • Develop a strong understanding of our products, materials, production methods, pricing, inventory, and design language.
  • Communicate the value of handmade rugs clearly and confidently to different audiences.
  • Help clients navigate product options, stock availability, custom orders, lead times, and project requirements.
  • Contribute to product launches, sales materials, events, and other brand initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in sales, digital marketing, e-commerce, account management, or a related role.
  • Confidence communicating with new and existing clients by telephone, email, and in person.
  • Experience with digital advertising and an understanding of how to evaluate campaign performance.
  • Strong written communication skills and an eye for visual presentation.
  • The ability to organize leads, projects, and follow-ups without extensive supervision.
  • Comfort working with sales data, marketing metrics, and online business tools.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in building systems, not simply working within established ones.
  • The ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • An appreciation for interiors, furniture, art, fashion, or design.
  • Fluency in both English and French.

Experience with Shopify, CRM platforms, email-marketing software, Meta or Google advertising, and analytics tools would be valuable. Experience working with interior designers, architects, retailers, or design-focused products is also a strong asset.

Working With Us

We’re a small team, so this role will have meaningful influence over how our sales and marketing programs develop. It also means that everyone occasionally helps outside a narrow job description. This may include preparing for a photoshoot or event, organizing samples, welcoming clients, packing an order, or helping move rugs and products around the studio.

The position is based in our Montreal studio and requires in-person work four days per week. It is not a remote or hybrid position.

How to Apply
